The Estes Screamin’ Mimi (SM) was refurbished and re-launched last weekend. It’s the oldest model rocket in the fleet at seventeen years old. It’s also the most launched. The fins have separated from the tube in the past, but last time it was the entire motor mount. On these most recent launches, the SM was fitted with a UNIVERSAL ASTROCAM®. The results were OK, and you can view here and here on YouTube. The sound is great but was expecting the camera to capture more of the ground during reentry. I’ll need to tweak before the next launches.
