In a sense, if this article (see below) is true Michael Moore really is everyting he portends to despise...namely a liar and a hypocrite. Moore's propaganda would make Joseph Goebbels misty eyed.

Why I'm voting and working to re-elect George W. Bush.
(1) Democrats prescribe to this belief that all the ills of the world are the result of American behavior. This is aptly called the, "Blame America First" syndrome. If there was a ricket outbreak in Liechtenstein the Democrats would blame America. Michael Moore, teaming with Stephen Spielberg, would concoct a "documentary" about how a corporate contract tied to some member or relative of the Republican party resulted in the ricket outbreak.
(2) Democrats are rampantly (UN)american. If Kerry is elected, he will defer to the French and Germans before making important foreign policy decisions. He may also compromise our nation's sovereignty in order to appease the French and Germans. He would engage in endless "discussions" at the U.N. while genocide is committed in other countries or Islamic fundamentalists acquire the technology to build nuclear weapons
(3) Democrats are rampantly (UN)american II. Patriotism shames them. They view Americans who fly the flag as simpletons or fascists.
(4) Democrats don't believe terrorism should be thwarted militarily when necessary. They believe it is a law enforcement issue.
(5) Democrats take things away from you on behalf of the common good. That entire sentence was taken from a speech Hillary Clinton gave on behalf of Senator Barbara Boxer. Taxation stifles businesses (both large and small) by sapping the incentive for hard work...If sixty cents of every dollar goes to government coffers, what incentive do you have to work or build a business?
(6) Democrats abet renegade judges under pressure from special interest groups. Liberal judges are imposing "their" will by legislating from the bench...judicial activism suffocates majority opinion.
(7) Democrats are opposed to free trade. Edwards would rescind NAFTA and enact tariffs to protect "dinosaur" industries.
(8) Democrats are hostile to organized religion. There is no room for GOD in the Democratic party unless the creator is identified as a mystical crystal bourne nature-like entity,
(9) Democrats assault the permanent things. They mock institutions like marriage while promoting an ethical and moral relativism.
(10) Democrats, beholden to trial lawyers, prevent tort reform. The result of that ensnarement is greater health insurance costs for all Americans.
(11) Democrats have circumvented McCain-Feingold by establishing shadowy political organizations that coordinate their propaganda efforts with the Kerry campaign.
(12) Democrats believe in "choice" only if it DOESN'T involve private education (or what you do with YOUR money).
(13) Democrats cling to entitlements and affirmative action programs because they create dependencies that prevent human beings from reaching their full potential. The Democratic leadership is repulsed by people who are self made, who look outside the system and within themselves to ameliorate their own condition.
(14) Democrats use the mind-moulding establishments- education, entertainment and journalism, deftly and deviously. They attack alternative radio and television because they've had success reaching a segment of America forgotten by NPR, PBS. CBS and the NY Times. Our primary and secondary educational facilities are dominated by left-leaning, thinking educators who offer only one biased view of the truth. Finally, the Democratic leadership portends that Hollywood represents the "heart and soul" of America...that the vitriol and hatred Michael Moore, Julia Roberts, and Whoppi Goldberg spew connects with people who make less in a lifetime than they make in one movie/commercial.

Ready for what? His speech was nondescript. It lacked specifics. What is he "able" for? I think mostly he's "able" to be whatever he needs to be to ascend to the presidency. He seems to be masquerading as a moderate and I'm hopeful that the Bush campaign will respond with evidence of his true record...The reality is that he's achieved very little in the Senate over two decades and has a voting record left (LEFT!!!) of Hillary and Kennedy!

Those who know me well know I Love The Who. This link is to a piece written by Pete Townshend about Michael Moore. According to Pete, Moore has "bullied and slurred him in interviews" just because he didn’t receive rights to use the song WON’T GET FOOLED AGAIN. Edwards was right! There really are two Americas!!!
There is the America composed of the liberal elite (referenced here), Hollywood/Media consortium (referenced here, liberal educators and here) the dupes who have bought their anti-American vitriol hook, line and sinker (you can see them driving their Volvo's). The other America is the hard-working, patriotic, values-grounded segment. This 2nd segment REPRESENTS most AMERICANS, but unfortunately, the left DOMINATES the mind-moulidng establishments. It appears grim but I have some good news! As long as America remains a free-market and capiltalistic minded society we can "vote" with our dollars. Here's one example of how the free market has corrected an imbalance...AND WHAT YOU CAN DO!
Conservative talk radio is wildly successful because it fills a need not satisfied by traditional, left-leaning media. The success of conservatve talk radio was so great that the left created a fledging network of radio programs hosted by the likes of Al Franken and Garofalo.
What can you do?
Don't watch televivion programs starring liberals (anything with Whoppi or Ted Danson comes to mind). At the end of the day, the networks depend on advetising dollars to keep the lights on. If viewership for those programs rank/rate poorly, the networks will be forced to pull the plug. I don't think Whoppi's show on NBC has been succesful anyway, but don't tune in AND encourage others not to as well. I refuse to watch the Academy Awards because the Billy Crystal love-fest makes me wretch.
The same goes for Movies...I will never give another dollar to a studio like Miramax. I also won't give a dollar (movie rental or otherwise) with anything featuring the very self-important and repugnant Julia Roberts.
I wouldn't recommend you stop watching the Nightly News (but I'm not sure there's a lesser evil between Brokaw, Jennings and Rather). I "vote" with my dollars by watching FOX News. FOX News is another great example of how the free-market has returned some equilibrium to the marketplace...The left vilifies FOX News because they don't provide the same leftist "message" that NBC/CBS/ABC espouse. There's a reason why FOX News is succesful- it fills a NEED not met by the current crop of offerings.
I don't buy the New York Times. In my opinion, it's a daily newsletter for the mind-moulding establishment and their torrid automatons. The Times has become a mouthpiece/foutainhead for the Democratic Party. The last time I checked, readership for the NY Times was down (I believe the same is true for ALL newspapers however).
This is a BIG fight and conservatives/moderates lack the same tools the Democrats have at their disposal. This triumvirate- education, entertainment, and journalism are a powerful lot! But our ideas can permeate this flood of liberalism as we seek creative solutions (like this BLOG) to shun this ill wind. On this BLOG...I've become Guy Montag and no Sanity Company will douse this fevered belief in tradition, moral absolutism and our treasured permanent things!
