Bobby Cox to Retire After One More Year as Braves’ Manager
Bobby Cox will manage the Atlanta Braves for one more season and then retire, ending a 20-year run in which he helped turn one of baseball’s doormats into a World Series champion and perennial contender.

Cox, 68, signed a one-year contract extension through 2010, the Braves said in a news release. He then will become an adviser to the Major League Baseball club under a five-year agreement.
