This is a hand-blown glass acorn. I found it at a tag sale. It's the perfect bookshelf ornament and one of those rare treasures that makes an afternoon of rummaging worth the effort.

This is what I would have purchased in Mr. Charrington's store. It's also a mathom in LOTR speak. I don't purchase chotskies but this is a self-imposed and seldom enforced rule. These dust magnets make me smile and certainly chotskies rescued from tag sales are spared a cruel fate.
